School choice gives parents power

Indiana
Institute for Quality Education website.

Indiana is a state where school choice is valued and many quality options are available to families. Parents may choose from public charter, private, virtual or traditional public schools. There is even choice within our traditional public school districts, from transfer options to magnet schools, and career and technical education opportunities. With this wide variety of options available, it has never been more important for families to have access to reliable information to help them choose the best school for their child.

The Institute for Quality Education (IQE) is dedicated to providing information to parents about all their K-12 school options. IQE recently launched a new online tool for parents at myschooloptions.org. This free resource provides families with great information about the types of schools available. Users may also view nearby schools on a map, easily access A-F school ratings, and explore school profiles that provide other important information on things like course offerings, extracurricular activities and school culture. Information about financial assistance is also provided for students who may qualify for a school voucher or tax credit scholarship to attend private school.

Making a decision about where to send their children to school is one of the most important things a parent will ever do. We look forward to helping grow school choice in Indiana by empowering parents with information about all the quality options in our state.
