An Indianapolis woman was arrested early Saturday morning, after witnesses told police she twice ran over a person with her car in the parking lot of a Far-Eastside bar before driving off.

Ciera Riley, 23, faces preliminary charges of aggravated battery and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Police were called to the Magnolia Bar and Grill, in the 8100 block of East 21st Street, about 12:35 a.m. Saturday morning.

When an officer arrived, he found a woman with serious injuries lying on the ground in the parking lot outside of the bar, according to the police report.

Two witnesses told police that they saw Riley and the victim together at the bar. When they left, Riley got into the driver's seat while the victim opened the passenger side door.

According to the witnesses, Riley suddenly backed up at a high rate of speed, crashing into the vehicle parked behind it, before then striking and running the victim over two times before leaving the scene.

According to the police report, the victim told police that Riley "'intentionally ran me over."

The victim, who was not identified was transported to IU Methodist Hospital for treatment of critical injuries, police said.
