1. Intense negotiations continue as lawmakers debate how to fix RFRA.

Republican leaders spent the day vetting a possible fix with members of the business community and members of their own caucus.

The current proposal would specify that the new religious freedom law cannot be used as a legal defense to discriminate against patrons based on their sexual orientation, but it would not make LGBT a protected class.

Will the business community think it goes far enough? Will conservative groups think it goes too far? Will Republicans find consensus? We'll see.

2. Matthew Tully writes that Pence is out of his league.

Recent days show Pence is not at all ready for any run for president. He was ideal for Congress, where party loyalty and rhetoric make you a rising star. But, unlike Congress, a governor's office actually has to do more than talk. Things need to be accomplished.

3. The fallout over RFRA continues -- and not just in Indianapolis.

After threatening to cancel their convention last week, the Disciples of Christ have confirmed they will not visit Indy in 2017 as originally scheduled. Reportedly, six other conventions in Fort Wayne are reconsidering the city due to RFRA. Hoosier native David Letterman has also weighed in, saying, "this is not the Indiana I remember as a kid" before mocking Gov. Pence.

4. Butler was three inches away from the greatest basketball story ever told.
