Purdue diver Steele Johnson didn't have to be perfect to win any another NCAA title, but he was nearly so anyway.

The freshman from Carmel, who received perfect 10s from all seven judges on one dive, won on 10-meter platform Saturday night in the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships at Iowa City, Iowa.

His score was 532.70 points, beating runner-up James Connor of Indiana, 514.80. Connor represented Australia at the 2012 London Olympics. Purdue's Sean Mokhtari and Jamie Bissett were seventh and eighth, respectively.

Johnson, the 1-meter champion Thursday, earned all 10s to score 102.00 points on his reverse 3½ somersault tuck in Round 5. He then had 9.5s and 10s on this final dive, worth 92.80, to secure his second title.

Texas won the team championship with 528 points, followed by California with 399 and Michigan with 312. Indiana was 12th with 126 and Purdue 17th with 75.
