Scattered thunderstorms and a chance of rain showers Saturday has forced Indiana University officials to move the nation's largest men's collegiate bike race to Sunday.

The university sent the notice out on Twitter Friday afternoon, advising fans and participants that the men's race would be held Sunday at 2 p.m. The women's race took place Friday so it was not affected by the weather.

Modeled after the Indianapolis 500, riders compete in four-person teams around a quarter-mile cinder track at Bill Armstrong Stadium at Indiana University. The men's race is 200 laps — 50 miles — and the women's race is 100. More than 25,000 fans flock to the campus in Bloomington to be a part of IU's storied tradition each year.
