Teen killed in Far Eastside shooting

A teenager was shot and killed Sunday evening on the Far Eastside, police said.

Neighbors called Indianapolis Metropolitan police after hearing gunshots in the 2600 block of Morning Star Drive around 7:45 p.m., according to a press release from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Officers arrived and found a man dead of a gunshot wound.

Police identified the victim as Darrius Taylor, 18, of Indianapolis.

Investigators said they have not yet found any suspects or a motive, but that the shooting does not appear to be random.

Homicide detectives are interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence at the scene.
