A winter weather advisory has been issued for Central Indiana, while more than 60 counties declared travel advisories because of potential hazardous driving conditions as residents dig out from a storm that dumped 8 inches or more of snow in some areas.

Forecasters predict freezing rain, and sleet may impact Hoosier commutes from 3 a.m. to noon Tuesday. Drivers are warned to use caution, as roads could be slippery and visibility limited.

Up to 0.10 of a inch of ice and sleet could accumulate, National Weather Service officials said.

The NWS has also issued a hazardous weather outlook for much of Indiana for Tuesday. Rain and melting snow Tuesday afternoon and evening could cause flooding. Isolated thunderstorms also are possible.

Below-zero wind chills are possible Thursday and Thursday night in Central Indiana.
