Indy 500 Weekend

In case you haven't heard, the Indianapolis 500 is this weekend. Just a reminder of the lineup of events; Carb Day is Friday with performances by Jane's Addiction, OAR and 38 Special. Saturday is the 500 Festival Parade and that evening, the Florida Georgia Line Concert at the track. Sunday is the 99th running of the Indy 500 as well as the big party in the Snake Pit.

Koala Exhibit Opens

Just don't call them bears. The koalas (they're marsupials) come to the Indianapolis Zoo this weekend. Thursday and Friday are member preview days with the exhibit opening to the public on Saturday. Milo and Thackory at the zoo though Labor Day weekend.

Naptown Roller Girls Annual Star Wars Bout

On Saturday, the Naptown Roller Girls will take on the Cinicinnati Roller Girls in the annual Star Wars night at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum at the State Fairgrounds on Saturday. Jedi Knights, the Rebel Alliance, Sith Lords and other Star Wars characters will be in attendance.

Freedom Springs Aquatics Park

Dig out your swimsuits. A new state-of-the-art aquatics facility opens in Greenwood on Saturday. The Freedom Springs Park features a lazy river, slides, a zero-depth entry pool, kids zones, cabanas and more.
