New Brownsburg girls basketball coach introduces herself to team

New Brownsburg girls basketball coach Debbie Guckenberger introduced herself to her new team on Monday night.

Guckenberger, who had coached at Greenwood since 2003 and was named Mid-State Conference Coach of the Year in 2012 and '13, replaces Amy Brauman, who resigned after eight seasons.

Guckenberger's hiring is expected to become official at next week's school board meeting.

"We feel very fortunate that Debbie applied and wanted to come to Brownsburg," Brownsburg athletic director Kelli Waggoner said. "She's done a great job at Greenwood for a long time."

Brownsburg was 15-9 each of the last two seasons after winning a sectional in 2013. Greenwood won its lone sectional in 2012 under Guckenberger.
