1. Know the new laws going into effect today in Indiana.

Six new laws go into effect today in the Hoosier state. You probably know about RFRA. But, did you know you can now legally own a short-barreled shotgun in the state? And you may finally think twice before beheading someone while in Indiana.

One of the laws will have slow drivers moving out of the left lane. Just wanted to pull that one out separately to make sure every driver sees this.

Today also marks the opening day at the First Church of Cannabis with RFRA going into effect.

3. Some religious leaders fear RFRA will lead to discrimination.

Some smaller faiths are worried about the discrimination the Religious Freedom Restoration Act may bring. The law was written so all religions could freely practice. But, many practicing minority faiths see the law as a possible threat, thinking it may encourage discrimination.

4. The possible routes for I-69 are narrowed.

There are five possible routes for the superhighway between Evansville and Indianapolis. Just one of those five is already a road. The final path may be chosen in 2018.

Some businesses along Ind. 37, the one path with an existing road, said in April the highway project could destroy them.

What will it take for IU basketball fans to have more confidence in the team's head coach this season?

Having a more competitive team may help. And both IU's Tom Crean and Purdue's Matt Painter have been busy in the off-season.
