Michigan City Marquette forward Ryan Fazekas is unable to participate with the IndyStar Indiana All-Stars in June.

The 6-8 Fazekas, who was named to the 14-player roster earlier this month, begins summer classes at Providence in late May. The academic structure of the summer classes at Providence will make it impossible for Fakezas to participate with the All-Stars and still earn his credits, All-Star games director Charlie Hall said Monday.

"It's not the first time it's happened where we haven't had all 13 players able to participate for various reasons," Hall said. "He's still an All-Star and always will be."

Fazekas averaged 20.9 points as a senior at Marquette Catholic and led his team to a runner-up showing in Class A. Marquette won the Class A state title in Fazekas' junior season.

"I'm very disappointed I will not be able to attend the Indiana All-Star game," Fazekas said. "It is an honor to be picked on the team and I wish I could be there to represent Indiana. Also I wish I could play at Bankers Life Fieldhouse one last time with a close friend, (Guerin Catholic's) Matt Holba."

The Indiana All-Stars will play the Kentucky All-Stars on June 12 at Transylvania University in Lexington, Ky., and at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on June 13. The All-Stars will have 12 available players; Columbus North's Josh Speidel, who is recovering from injuries suffered in an auto accident, was selected but will not play.
