EAST

1. Ohio State (6-0, 2-0)

You’ll see the Buckeyes starting to build in the second half of the season. Saturday: vs. Penn State

2. Michigan (5-1, 2-0)

Still hasn’t allowed a point since Sept. 19 after throttling Northwestern. Probably a big game coming up. Saturday: vs. Michigan State

3. Michigan State (6-0, 2-0)

Are the Spartans playing to their competition after sleepwalking past Purdue and Rutgers? We’ll find out soon. Saturday: at Michigan

4. Penn State (5-1, 2-0)

Far from sharp against the Hoosiers, but riding a five-game winning streak. Saturday: at Ohio State

5. Indiana (4-2, 0-2)

Played without quarterback Nate Sudfeld and Jordan Howard in loss at Penn State. The Hoosiers need both. Saturday: vs. Rutgers

6. Rutgers (2-3, 0-2)

The one down you don’t want to spike the ball is fourth. Saturday: at Indiana

7. Maryland (2-4, 0-2)

The Terrapins played hard at Ohio State for Randy Edsall, who was fired Sunday. Maybe if they did it earlier in the season Edsall would still be around. Saturday: Bye

WEST

1. Iowa (6-0, 2-0)

One piece of bad news is defensive end Drew Ott suffered a torn ACL against Illinois. Otherwise, the Hawkeyes are rolling. Saturday: at Northwestern

2. Wisconsin (4-2, 1-1)

What’s going on? The Badgers throw 50 times and win. Kicker Rafael Gaglianone the hero at Nebraska. Saturday: vs. Purdue

3. Northwestern (5-1, 1-1)

The Wildcats brought back to earth following 38-0 loss at Michigan. Still plenty to play for in this division. Saturday: vs. Iowa

4. Minnesota (4-2, 1-1)

Coach Jerry Kill went back to the basics and ran the ball all day in the victory at Purdue. Saturday: vs. Nebraska

5. Illinois (4-2, 1-1)

Fourth-quarter comeback at Iowa falls short, but the Illini are poised to pull an upset. Saturday: Bye

6. Nebraska (2-4, 0-2)

Another last-second loss for the Huskers. Mike Riley didn’t sign up for this. Saturday: at Minnesota

7. Purdue (1-5, 0-2)

Gave up 41 straight points to the Gophers at home. Mind-numbing. Saturday: at Wisconsin
