Indianapolis police say one person was killed and another wounded late Friday night in shootings in close proximity to each other on Indianapolis' Eastside.

Sharrod Crowe, 24, Indianapolis, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release Saturday from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. A second shooting victim, 24-year-old Bobby Williams Jr., is in critical condition at Eskenazi Hospital.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of East 16th Street and Dequincy Street at 9:55 p.m. on a report of a person shot.

When they arrived, they found Williams with a gunshot wound to the chest lying in an alley in the 4800 block of East 17th Street. He was transported to Eskenazi in critical condition, IMPD said.

Officers canvassing the area soon located Crowe with multiple gunshot wounds inside of a nearby detached garage, which had signs of a forced entry. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

IMPD said witnesses provided a limited description of a possible suspect in the shootings, which are still under investigation.

Anyone with information about this crime is urged to call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 262-TIPS.
