Indiana ranked fourth worst in environmental quality
Yet another organization has ranked Indiana poorly for its environmental quality, in spite of state environmental officials’ insistence that its pollution levels are improving.
The personal finance website WalletHub on Monday released its report on 2015’s Most & Least Eco-Friendly States. Indiana was ranked the fourth worst.
Vermont was No. 1. Louisiana was ranked the worst.
Here’s how WalletHub ranked Indiana’s eco-friendliness in its methodology.
• 48th – Air quality
• 30th – Water quality
• 39th – Percentage of municipal solid waste recycled
• 31st – Number of green (LEED) buildings per capita
• 38th – Percentage of energy consumption from renewable sources
• 39th – Energy efficiency scorecard
• 28th – Gasoline consumption per capita
• 44th – Percentage of the population not driving to work
