Lavoy Allen returns to the Pacers by signing a multi-year deal.

The Pacers added to their front court depth by signing their in-house free agent.

On Thursday, power forward Lavoy Allen signed his second contract with Indiana, his agent confirmed to The Star. Terms were not disclosed, though the agreement was described as a multi-year deal. Allen can formally sign the contract on July 9 at the end of the NBA moratorium.

Last season, Allen, the 6-foot-9 big, averaged 5.0 points and 5.1 rebounds as a backup power forward who also mixed it up as a center. However, Allen was most effective early in the season as injuries depleted the Pacers' depth.

In November, Allen played 22.6 minutes while scoring 7.4 points and pulling down 8.1 rebounds. An effective rebounder, Allen created second-chance scoring opportunities for himself and others while averaging 3.4 offensive rebounds through the month.

Overall, Allen, 25, worked as the team's most consistent scorer around the rim (70.7 percent on shots attempted from 0-3 feet from the basket).

Allen appeared in 63 games during his first full season with the Pacers. On Feb. 20, 2014, Allen was part of a trade that sent Danny Granger to Philadelphia. Last summer, Allen returned to the Pacers on a one-year deal.
