While on vacation, Anna Korman took photos of a shark caught in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina.

Korman is with her family from Richmond, Va., according to WCNC-TV. She says around 10:30 a.m. on Friday a family member saw from their balcony that a fisherman captured a shark.

The catch comes at a time of increased incidents involving sharks. North Carolina has seen at least six shark attacks this year, according to George Burgess, the director of the Shark Attack File. The state typically only sees one or two per year, Frank Schwarts, a shark biologist with the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, told National Geographic.

The shark is about 6.5 feet long and was released back into the North Carolina ocean, WCNC-TV reports. It did not meet North Carolina guidelines to keep it.
