An SUV collided with a sedan, killing one person and critically injuring another, and then drove away early Thursday morning, police said.

Investigators later identified a suspect, a 31-year-old man, in the hit and run, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Sgt. Kendale Adams said.

A Chevrolet Trailblazer crashed with a Honda around 1:15 a.m. at Tibbs Avenue and 22nd Street on the Westside, Adams said.

Investigators determined the Chevrolet drove away without stopping to help the occupants of the Honda, police said.

One man was seriously hurt and died at the hospital, Adams said. The driver of the car remains in critical condition.

The suspect has warrants for parole violations. He has not yet been apprehended, Adams said.
