Sophia Loren, the Italian-born film actress who won an Oscar for Best Actress in 1962 for her role in Vittorio De Sica's "Two Women," will come to Carmel for a Q&A-style conversation next spring, the Center for the Performing Arts announced.

Loren, 81, will speak at the Palladium on March 22 at 7:30 p.m. She will also be available for a meet-and-greet with VIP ticket buyers after the show.

Loren was born in Rome and grew up in poverty in Naples. By the 1950s, she had become one of Italy's biggest stars and an international sex symbol. She was famous on the screen for her dark-haired beauty and off the screen for an affair with actor Cary Grant during the filming of "The Pride and the Passion."

Her Oscar win for "Two Women" made her the first person to win an award for Best Actress in a foreign-language film. She has also won five special Golden Globes, a BAFTA Award, a Grammy Award and a Cecil B. DeMille Award for her lifetime achievements.

Tickets are available at www.thecenterpresents.org or by calling (317) 843-3800. Tickets start at $45.
