One man was killed and three people, injured, in a drive-by shooting on the Near Westside Thursday night.

The apparent homicide was the second that night, and the fourth this week.

Police were called to the 500 block of North Lynn Street just before midnight and found a man outside a residence with a gunshot wound to the head, police said.

Paramedics rushed him to Eskenazi Health, where he later died, according to an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police press release.

Shortly after, investigators learned three other people sought help for gunshot wounds at Eskenazi. They reported they were also shot on Lynn Street, the press release said.

Those people suffered nonfatal injuries, police said.

Detectives believe the victims were shot at from a passing car while they stood outside in front of an abandoned home, the press release said. The shootings were not far from Michigan Street and Belmont Avenue.

Also on Thursday night, a man died after he was stabbed in a Northside home.

Detectives are also investigating shootings that killed a man Tuesday morning, and another Wednesday morning.
