An Indianapolis man charged with the fatal stabbing of 24-year-old Jazmine Trammell has been found guilty of murder.

After a three-day trial, a jury returned a guilty verdict for James Wade Jr., 61.

Officials said Trammell was killed on March 23, 2014. Her body was found that day inside a wooden chest that investigators said belonged to Wade.

Wade was arrested and charged with murder in connection to the crime in April 2014. Court documents state that Wade lived at Maison Gardens Apartments where apartment staff found the chest and Trammell's body next to a trash bin.

Apartment staff members were alerted to the presence of the chest by a handwritten note.

In court Monday, prosecutors stated that Trammell's body suffered more than 80 stab wounds. DNA testing confirmed that her blood was splattered throughout Wade's apartment in the 4200 block of Rue Biscay.

Other pieces of evidence found include two broken kitchen knives, two bottles of bleach, a mop and bucket, scrub brush and two rugs, court documents said.

Online court records state that Wade will be sentenced on the afternoon of May 1.
