A man was killed and a woman hospitalized Saturday after a motorcycle crash on Interstate 69 near Exit 210 in Hamilton County.

Police said Curtis D. McKinney, 51, Edgewood, Ill., and his passenger, 50-year-old Bonnie L. McKinney, were thrown from the bike around 6:17 p.m. Saturday, just north of the exit.

Lt. Bruce Barnes said of the Noblesville Police Department traffic had been slower in that area because of a concert at Klipsch Music Center.

Witnesses told police that the motorcycle was heading south on I-69 when Curtis McKinney lost control of the vehicle and crashed while attempting to slow for stopped traffic.

Curtis McKinney was transported by ambulance to St. Vincent Hospital in Fishers, Barnes said. Bonnie L. McKinney was airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis where she was treated and released.

The crash shut down both lanes of southbound Interstate 69 for several hours while Noblesville police investigated it.
