UPDATE: Reports have DeAndre Jordan likely to agree to a deal with the Dallas Mavericks, taking them out of the equation for Roy Hibbert.

The Dallas Mavericks are in hot pursuit of free agent center DeAndre Jordan -- and their chase could have ramifications for the Pacers.

How so, you ask?

According to ESPN Dallas' Tim MacMahon, if the Mavericks can't swing a deal for Jordan, they may cast an eye toward Indiana and Roy Hibbert.

Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski, citing sources, tweeted that if Dallas misses on Jordan, "it's expected talks with Indiana on Monta Ellis-Roy Hibbert centered sign-and-trade will happen." The Pacers agreed to terms on a four-year deal with Ellis on Thursday.

Hibbert exercised his $15.6 million player option for the 2015-16, a decision greeted without much fanfare in Indianapolis.

Hibbert, a two-time All-Star, struggled mightily in 2014-15, averaging his fewest points per game (10.6) since his rookie season (7.1). Larry Bird and Frank Vogel have stated time and time again the team's desire to play a more up-tempo style -- one that doesn't fit Hibbert's game.

The team also seemingly drafted Hibbert's replacement choosing Texas freshman Myles Turner in the lottery.

Jordan is also being courted by the Lakers, Clippers and Knicks. So stay tuned.

The Knicks were reportedly also a team potentially interested in Hibbert, but only if they were to miss out on Jordan or fellow free agent center Robin Lopez. Late Thursday night, ESPN's Marc Stein tweeted that Lopez has committed to the Knicks and will sign with New York as long as Jordan doesn't do so.

With Jordan having apparently narrowed down his choices to Dallas and the Clippers, it looks as though New York is no longer interested in a possible Hibbert acquisition.
