A couple of recruiting notes to pass along:

• Tech guard C.J. Walker has set three visits, including two of his allotted five official visits.

The 6-foot Walker, a former Purdue commit, will take an unofficial visit to Xavier on June 7 and official visits to Florida State (June 18-21) and Butler (June 26). Walker, who averaged 23.8 points as a junior, is also considering offers from Illinois, Missouri, Pitt and Wichita State.

Walker is ranked as the No. 148 prospect in the 2016 class by Rivals.

• Cathedral quarterback Max Bortenschlager committed to Buffalo on Wednesday, according to coach Rick Streiff.

Bortenschlager, who also had offers from Ball State and Eastern Michigan, is ranked as the No. 21 in-state prospect in the 2016 class by 247sports.com.

The 6-3 Bortenschlager passed for 2,270 yards and 21 touchdowns last season to help Cathedral to the Class 5A state championship. He was 11-for-16 for 195 yards and three TDs in a 56-7 win over LaPorte in the title game.
