The Cincinnati, Ohio-based store is now open in Nash at Carmel City Center, 864 S. Range Line Road  . The family-owned company has two other stores in the Indianapolis area, one in Fishers and the other in the Butler-Tarkington neighborhood.

Graeter's is known for handcrafted flavors and gelato. The ice cream is made in Louisville, and the Carmel store will feature French Pot ice cream and sorbet, gelato, low-glycemic ice cream, sundaes, shakes, smoothies and more.

The Graeter family has 11 stores in southern Indiana and Kentucky. In a press release, co-owner Jay Tedesco said the goal is to offer the highest quality of ice cream.

"From the beginning, we have made the ice cream for each of our stores in Louisville, and will continue that for Carmel," he said.
