Justin Wilson's brother: 'Another memory comes and breaks you down again'

Justin Wilson's younger brother, a race car driver in his own right, said the family is doing as well as it can in the aftermath of his passing.

"It's kind of crazy; it happened so quickly," Stefan Wilson said Tuesday upon arrival in Indianapolis, where he lives. "One minute you're watching on TV, cheering him on (at Pocono Raceway), and then at some point devastation.

"It's hard to really understand, and it's probably going to take a while. At times you sort of, not really come to accept it, but then another memory comes and breaks you down again."

Justin was 11 years older than Stefan, and he was Stefan's hero, as he was to a lot of people. Stefan said he has appreciated the way people have portrayed him and the touching messages that have been sent. He called those "comforting."

Stefan, who has won two Indy Lights races and has started one IndyCar Series race, was proud of his brother's organ donation, tweeting how he "saved six lives today. He just keeps setting the bar higher."

Stefan's request now is to have people support Justin's family.

"Rally with Julia and the kids," he said. "That's what Justin would want."
