NASHVILLE -- Eighth-grade basketball sensation Tyger Campbell's stay at Christ Presbyterian Academy in Nashville was a short one.

Campbell, a rising freshman, has decided to transfer from CPA to attend national power La Lumiere in La Porte, Ind., Lions coach Drew Maddux confirmed on Friday.

"I met with him and his family a couple of weeks ago," Maddux said. "We had a great visit about their decision. I'm always going to positive, and support anything the family decides. They put a tremendous amount of weight into the decision. They feel like that's going to help foster Tygers' development both on and off the court."

Campbell averaged 14.5 points and 6.1 assists a season ago, helping lead the Lions to a 32-5 record and a Class AA semifinal appearance.

La Lumiere has been home to Purdue's Rapheal Davis, former IU player Hanner Mosquera-Perea, former Cathedral standout Jalen Coleman and countless other Division I prospects in recent years.

The prep school does not compete in the IHSAA state tournament.
