Man arrested in fatal shooting linked to dice game

Adrian Durden, 30, of Indianapolis, arrested on outstanding warrants for murder and unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.

Homicide investigators arrested an Indianapolis man in connection with a fatal shooting that took place last month after a dice game, police said.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department detectives took 30-year-old Adrian Durden into custody Wednesday. He was wanted on preliminary charges of murder and unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, a release from the department said.

Durden is accused of killing 45-year-old Shawn Nash after an illegal dice game in April.

Officers were called to a shots fired run in the area of 30th Street and Capitol Avenue and a few minutes later were informed of person shot in the 2900 block of North Capitol Avenue, police said.

Responding units located Nash, who was suffering from a gunshot wound, police said.

The victim was transported to Methodist Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
