Top prospect Tyler Glasnow was roughed up during a seven-run first inning that paced the Columbus Clippers’ 10-6 thumping of the Indianapolis Indians Tuesday night at Huntington Park.

While the two clubs swapped blows in their battle for International League West division supremacy, the Indians, courtesy of a Gwinnett loss tonight, officially clinched at least a Wild Card berth and are now guaranteed a spot in the 2015 IL playoffs.

The series now swings back to Victory Field, where the Tribe maintains a one-game lead over Columbus in its pursuit for an IL West division title.

Glasnow carried a 20-plus inning scoreless streak into tonight’s outing and took the mound ranked first in the International League in ERA over his first six Triple-A starts. However, the right-hander was lifted in the opening frame after allowing five walks and a two-run double. Alex Lavisky then welcomed reliever Adam Miller with a three-run homer that capped Columbus’ early explosion.

John Bowker cleared the fences on a solo shot to lead off the second inning and Keon Broxton went deep with a two-run homer in the eighth, but it wasn’t enough to match the Clippers’ 10-run assault.
