Perry Farrell will perform with Jane’s Addiction on May 22 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

This year's Carb Day show mixes styles not customarily found on a single concert bill.

The track is presenting a triple bill of alt-rock icons Jane's Addiction, Southern rock mainstays 38 Special and pop-minded, improv-rock band O.A.R.

Music begins at 3:30 p.m. Friday at an infield stage near Turn 4. The event is included in $30 Carb Day admission. For more information, visit IndianapolisMotorSpeedway.com or call (317) 492-8500.

Jane's Addiction, 5:30 p.m.

Built upon power and theatrics, Jane's Addiction seduced the underground during the late 1980s and then bubbled into the mainstream as the '90s dawned. The aggression of guitarist Dave Navarro and dreamy artistry of vocalist Perry Farrell defined landmark albums "Nothing's Shocking" (1988) and "Ritual de lo Habitual" (1990). Later, the band's 2003 effort "Superhero" served as the theme song for HBO's "Entourage" series.

Danny Chauncey will perform with 38 Special on May 22 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

38 Special, 4:30 p.m.

Frontman Donnie Van Zant left the lineup of 38 Special in 2013, but Don Barnes, the voice of hits "Hold On Loosely," "Caught Up in You" and "Rockin' into the Night," remains in the band. Formed in Jacksonville, Fla., in 1974, 38 Special sold more than 1 million copies each of 1980s albums "Wild-Eyed Southern Boys," "Special Forces" and "Tour de Force."

Marc Roberge will perform with O.A.R. on May 22 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

O.A.R., 3:30 p.m.

Initially known for playing lengthy songs in the tradition of jam bands, O.A.R. spent the past decade focusing on accessible melodies and compact arrangements. The title of the band's 2014 studio album, "The Rockville LP," refers to the quintet's hometown of Rockville, Md. O.A.R. will return to Indianapolis on Aug. 7 to headline a show at the Farm Bureau Insurance Lawn at White River State Park.
