Police have released a sketch of person suspected of shooting one man dead and critically wounding another last September on the city's Southside.

The shootings occurred Sept. 17, in the 3000 block of Chase Street. Police said an argument at a rental home erupted in gunfire, killing 28-year-old Daniel David Thompson and wounding 32-year-old Jessie Harris.

Investigators describe the suspect as being 25 to 30 years old, 5'6" to 5'7" tall, weighing 210 pounds. His first name is possibly Sean, and he was last seen driving a red SUV. Police said the suspect also owns or has owned a tan Buick.

Exactly what precipitated the shooting, how many people were present and what the relationship was between the two shooting victims remains unclear, Wilburn said. At the scene in September, family members told The Indianapolis Star that Thompson and Harris were friends.

Police said the suspect was armed with a semi-automatic handgun at the time of the shooting, and that "it possibly could be" that drugs were involved in the crime.
