1. Indiana lawmakers won't be studying LGBT protections this summer.

During a meeting Thursday, the Legislative Council chose 40 topics for Indiana lawmakers to study up on this summer. Gay rights was not one of those 40.

2. IPS gives teachers the OK to stop fights.

Before a brutal fight between a male and female student occurred in the halls of Northwest Community High School, teachers were instructed not to use physical force to break up a student altercations.

The new policy acknowledges that "there may be occasions in which a staff member must use limited physical force in the supervision of students."

3. A Purdue dean blames education reform for her college's enrollment... with Mitch Daniels in the meeting.

Talk about awkward. Purdue President Mitch Daniels sat and listened as Maryann Santos de Barona, dean of Purdue University's College of Education, blamed education reform for falling teacher enrollment at the university.

4. Our Colts Insider has some observations from week two of OTAs.

Rookie safety Clayton Geathers is getting a lot of snaps, some with the first unit, during OTAs. We could see him on the field often, come regular season.

It's been five decades since 10 African-American student athletes left the Indiana University football team to protest unequal treatment.

The "IU 10" have been welcomed back to the IU athletic community.
