Man dies after suffering stab wounds on Northside

A man was killed in a stabbing Thursday night on the city's Near Northside, police said.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reported the man was stabbed shortly after 10 p.m. by a "family friend" inside a home in the 800 block of Udell Street. By the time police arrived, the male suspect had left the scene and a victm was suffering from multiple stab wounds in the stomach and neck.

Emergency medical crews transported the victim to Eskenazi Hospital. Police said he was pronounced dead shortly after being transported by medics to the hospital.

There were a total of four people inside the home when the stabbing occurred.

As of late Thursday night, police did not have the suspect in custody.
