Kilroy’s Bar Downtown is ranked No. 51 nationally in revenue

Kilroy’s Bar and Grill is ranked alongside bars and nightclubs in New York, Las Vegas and Miami as one of the most money-making establishments in the country, according to a list compiled by a beverage-industry website.

Kilroy’s comes in at 51 in the list of the top 100 revenue-generating bars in the United States, according to the survey released by Nightclub & Bar.

“It’s a great feeling, considering there are only two other bars in the Midwest ranked higher than us, and both are in Chicago,” said Yvonne Rodriguez, a Kilroy’s bartender.

Rodriguez attributed the bar’s success in part to its connection with Indiana University fans, a big menu and its nearly 50 televisions that appeal to the city’s sports fanbase.

The sports bar was the only Indiana establishment to make the list, which included only two other Midwestern spots outside of Chicago. Also highlighted were bars in Cleveland and Shorewood, Ill.

Most of the profitable bars hailed from New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Miami.

The top five ranked bars were:

■ XS Nightclub in Las Vegas.

■ Hakkasan in Las Vegas.

■ Marquee Nightclub in Las Vegas.

■ TAO Las Vegas in Las Vegas.

■ LIV in Miami Beach, Fla.
