ALL-USA Indiana Athletes of the Week

These athletes were chosen for the week ending Oct. 31:
BOYS SOCCER
HAYDEN GORALL, Center Grove
Gorall played in the state championship game on Oct. 31, in which Center Grove defeated Harrison (West Lafayette), 4-0. He had a goal and two assists in the game. He scored the first goal in the first six minutes of the game, which proved to be the game winner.
GIRLS SOCCER
ABIGAIL BERGERON, Ft. Wayne Canterbury
Bergeron scored two goals, including the game winner in overtime, to lead her team to its second straight state championship in Saturday's IHSAA girls soccer state final.
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
BEN VEATCH, Carmel
Veatch won his second consecutive state championship title with a finishing time of 14:59. He holds the Carmel school record for cross-country with a time of 14:53.
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
SARAH LEINHEISER, Carmel
Leinheiser won the Noblesville regional, Carmel semi-state and IHSAA state championship for 2015. At the regional meet, she set a new course, meet and school record with 17:24.6. She also set a new course, meet and school record at the semi-state meet with a time of 17:22.4. Leinheiser finished her year as the 2015 individual state champion, running the fourth fastest time on the LaVern Gibson championship course in state history with a 17:30.8.
GIRLS BOWLING
LIANA MOTEL, Lake Central
Motel had the top game and two-game series for the first week of competition, 269/458.
BOYS BOWLING
KEVIN MCCUNE, Andrean
McCune bowled a perfect 300 game to lead the state in the first week of competition.
FOOTBALL
ETHAN KERTAI, LaVille
Kertai rushed for 310 yards on 10 carries and 4 touchdowns in the second round of No. 43 sectionals against North Miami High School.
VOLLEYBALL
LEXIE RABY, Western Boone
Raby had an outstanding season as the senior setter on the girls volleyball team. She led the Stars to their fifth consecutive sectional title while totaling 1,092 assists. After the regular season she led the state in assists. This season she added 259 digs, 15 blocks and 243 points.
