Yogi Ferrell and the Hoosiers will open the Maui Invitational against Wake Forest.

BLOOMINGTON -- Indiana will begin its latest appearance in the Maui Invitational against Wake Forest, according to a report from ESPN's Andy Katz. The tournament will take place from Nov. 23-25.

An IU spokesman would not comment on the report. ESPN typically anchors television coverage of the event.

The bracket released in Katz's report places Indiana and Kansas, arguably the two most talented teams in the field, on opposite sides, meaning the Hoosiers and Jayhawks could conceivably meet in the event's finale.

IU would play either St. John's or Vanderbilt, depending upon first-round results. Kansas, which opens with host Chaminade, is on the same side of the bracket as UCLA and UNLV.

Maui Invitational officials are expected to publicly announce the bracket for this year's field Tuesday.

Indiana already has non-conference games scheduled against Creighton, Duke and Notre Dame. The Hoosiers' full schedule is typically released in the early fall, after the Big Ten announces its full schedule.
