Police are investigating after a teenager was shot in the head on the city's Northwestside Wednesday night.

Indianapolis Metro Police officers were dispatched to the 5400 block of West 34th Street around 6:45 p.m.on a report of a person shot.

When units arrived on scene, they located a teen in the parking lot of Mister "C" Discount Liquor Shack with at least one gunshot wound to the head.

Officers administered first aid to the victim while waiting for medics to arrive, police said. He was then transported by emergency medical crews to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.

Police said investigators are working to determine a suspect description, but as of Wednesday night, detectives haven't released any further details regarding the person who may have pulled the trigger.

No shell casings were found near the victim's body, but police said they think the shooting did occur in the Liquor Shack parking lot.
