3 Indiana bars make list of America's top college bars
Two IU bars and a Purdue spot make Buzzfeed's Best College Bars in America list.
Purdue University students and alumni, be proud. According to a new Buzzfeed list, West Lafayette is home to the nation's top college bar.
Harry's Chocolate Shop, once the only soda fountain in West Lafayette, is now the top spot in the nation for thirsty college students, Purdue alumni and others to order drinks with a little more kick than just Coke.
Buzzfeed asked its community to name the best college bars in America. The site received many different suggestions from those loyal to their local watering holes. But the Chocolate Shop, known for a trademarked day of drinking named "The Great Indoorsman," prevailed.
Also making the list were two Indiana University bars. Kilroy's on Kirkwood finished in seventh place and Nick's English Hut came in 12th.
Kilroy's, known for its Long Islands and live music, is a popular spot on "Thirsty Thursdays" in Bloomington. Nick's has been around since 1927. According to Facebook commenter Paige Roberts, "It manages to blend current times with tradition."
