IndyCar Series racing from Sonoma, Calif., earned 841,000 viewers on NBCSN Sunday afternoon, up 123 percent from last year (377,000) and up 115 percent from 2013 (391,000).

Compared to last year’s finale from Fontana, viewership increased 200 percent from 280,000.

Scott Dixon‘s win, which clinched the season title, ranks as NBCSN's most-watched IndyCar race. The previous high was 666,000 for tape-delayed coverage from Mid-Ohio four weeks earlier. NBCSN aired three of its four most-watched IndyCar races this season, and six of its top 11.

Sunday’s race also ranks as the most-watched IndyCar telecast on cable since a Richmond race on ESPN in 2008 (947,000).
