Indianapolis Colts punter, who often hosts benefits because of his quick wit and humor, will finally have his own comedy special.

Within two hours of going on sale, all 1,600 seats to Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee's July 11 comedy show were gone.

At 12:30 p.m. Friday, a second show for Pat McAfee: Uncaged at the Palladium in Carmel was announced — "due to popular demand."

That show will take place July 12 at 8 p.m.

All About the Tickets

You'll have to fork out — or kick in — $100 to nab the best seat in the house for McAfee's first-ever comedy special.

But for diehard McAfee fans, that may just be worth it.

The priciest tickets come with reserved VIP seating, a VIP meet-and-greet and photo ops with McAfee, an autographed limited edition Pat McAfee: Uncaged event poster and limited edition T-shirt.

Other seats are available for $60 and $30.

Tickets for the newly-announced show are on sale now at The Palladium box office (317) 843-3800 or online at The Center for the Performing Arts.

"Pat McAfee is as good on stage as he is on a football field. That's good news and bad news," said Tom Griswold with the nationally-syndicated "Bob & Tom Show," where McAfee is a regular. "The good news is he's a great story teller. The bad news is all of his stories are true. He's an all-pro comedian."

Comedian Jeff Vibbert, known for his work behind the scenes at the "Bob & Tom Show," will open for McAfee.

This is an update to a story originally published May 26.

This was inevitable.

Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee — known as much for his quick wit, humor and clowning around as he is for his NFL prowess — is officially becoming a standup comic.

He's officially becoming a funny man — with his own real standup comedy special.

McAfee revealed on Twitter Tuesday that "Pat McAfee: Uncaged" is coming to Carmel's Palladium July 11.

Tickets go on sale Friday, with a portion of the proceeds going to the The Pat McAfee Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to providing educational scholarships to children of U.S. military personnel.

Notice the show is for those 18 years and older. Not a show to take the kids to for an autograph. There may be some foul language and seedy subject matter.

Yes. That's Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee dressed as Marilyn Monroe.

But for those who follow McAfee on Twitter, in interviews and at live appearances, it's safe to say the comedy will most likely involve a lot of McAfee poking fun at himself.

McAfee says he will be the first active NFL player to have a comedy special.

He recently starred in the "Bob & Tom Comedy Show" at Clowes Hall. And he's hosted countless fundraisers in the city, sought after for the laughs he evokes.

In February, McAfee provided a twist on Presidents Day, appearing on the "Bob and Tom" show as 1950s and '60s bombshell Marilyn Monroe.

But behind this funny football player is a fascinating story of how he became an NFL punter, told by the Star's Zak Keefer in October. And perhaps it's the life he's lived that gives McAfee his comic material.

"Long before he partied with Playmates, dated a beauty queen and took that infamous dip in the Broad Ripple canal; before there ever was The Pat McAfee Show, @PatMcAfeeShow and a weekly guest spot on "Bob and Tom"; before the same kid who grew up dreaming of one day living in a house with a staircase bought a million-dollar mansion in Geist; and before he became the NFL's best punter and most lethal onside kick specialist , there was that smoky, seedy restaurant basement in Pittsburgh where a high school senior refused to let his dream die," Keefer wrote.

The July show will be at the Palladium at the Center for Performing Arts, 355 City Center Drive.
