C.J. Walker, Arsenal Tech's leading scorer with 24 points, goes in for a layup against Shortridge Blue Devil Chris Adams, the game's high scorer with 28 points, during the Titans' 70-53 City Tournament quarterfinal win over Shortridge at Tech on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015.

Tech guard C.J. Walker, a former Purdue recruit, committed to Florida State on Saturday night.

Walker, a 6-foot guard and considered a potential contender for IndyStar Mr. Basketball in 2016, posted on his Twitter account that he'd committed to Florida State during his official visit. His father, Clarence, confirmed the news.

Walker had previously said that he'd planned to wait through July and consider his options. He had another official visit scheduled to Butler on June 26 and had recently taken an unofficial visit to Xavier.

Walker averaged 23.8 points, 3.7 assists and 3.5 rebounds as a junior at Tech. He helped the Titans to a Class 4A state championship as a sophomore alongside Mr. Basketball Trey Lyles and Ball State guard Jeremie Tyler.

After rescinding a commitment from Purdue after the season, Walker had narrowed his options to Butler, Florida State, Illinois, Missouri, Pitt, Wichita State and Xavier. He is ranked No. 148 nationally in the 2016 class by Rivals.
