Donald Trump may not be loved by some Republican Party leaders, but he did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Trump announced his stay on Twitter last night, calling it "new and clean, not bad!"

And Twitter rejoiced, playfully riffing on the brand's famous ads. You remember the ones:

Normal American is put into a high stakes situation requiring some serious expertise they don't (or shouldn't) possess.

"You're not a surgeon."

And then the punch line.

"No, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night."

Anyway, the image of the billionaire real estate mogul staying in a $100-a-night Holiday Inn Express was enough to send Twitter into a tizzy Wednesday night.

No word yet on which Holiday Inn Express Mr. Trump endorsed.
