Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert looks to take a shot over Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal and forward Drew Gooden in the first half of the game at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Tuesday, April 14, 2015.

Coach Frank Vogel said Friday center Roy Hibbert is a "consummate pro" who will do whatever the Indiana Pacers ask of him next season.

'We expect him to come back. He's a pro. He'll be prepared and be diligent about his work and do whatever is asked of him," Vogel said after the Pacers' rookie/free agent workouts ended. The summer league team begins play in Orlando on Saturday.

"Roy Hibbert's a consummate pro, so whatever we need him to do, whatever role we need to fill, he'll do that," Vogel said.

Reports have swirled about Hibbert's future though the Dallas Mavericks have reportedly agreed to a deal with DeAndre Jordan, and Hibbert has fallen into disfavor with fans. He picked up a $15.5 million option to remain with the team in 2015-16. Team President Larry Bird has the Pacers plan to play more uptempo, possibly curtailing Hibbert's role.

Third-year player Solomon Hill and second-year player Shayne Whittington will compete on the summer league squad. Hill is something of a surprise for that team, considering he startedf 78 games last season.

"Summer league atmosphere is really good," Vogel said. "These guys are given the opportunity to do a lot more than in the regular season. Solomon Hill played a lot for us last year, but Shayne Whittington did not. He's going to get a chance. We're all eager to see every minute Myles Turner's out there on the court. Hopefully Joe Young will get out there as well."

Turner was picked 11th overall and Young 43rd in last week's NBA Draft.

Turner is looking to the regular season, and likes that the Pacers have agreed to a deal with guard Monta Ellis.

"I'm from Dallas, so I watched him all the time," Turner said. "I'm excited to have another scoring guard on the team, another playmaker, another veteran."

Hill likes Turner's potential.

"He's long and has a soft touch. That's a great thing," Hill said. "He's going to be able to pick and pop, pick and get over the rim. That was one thing we struggled with last year.

"Sometimes we couldn't contest that lob. That's what he's going to bring to the team."
