A man bragging in jail about carrying out a "hit" in a 2014 double murder led investigators to uncover a murder-for-hire scheme connected to four homicides, a probable cause affidavit alleges.

Marion County prosecutors on Friday announced murder charges for two men in connection with two double homicides in 2014 -- a man who they say is the leader of a criminal organization and the man alleged to have carried out the killings.

Richard Grundy III is charged with four counts of murder and conspiracy to commit murder in connection with the January 2014 deaths of Tyrece Dorsey and William Davis and the February 2014 deaths of Carlos Jefferson and Julius Douglas.

Prosecutors also charged John Means, the man who they alleged Grundy hired in the killings, with a felony count of conspiracy to commit murder.

Means was charged with four counts of murder in 2014 in connection with the deaths.

Court documents say informants told police Means bragged about the hits in jail.

Through confidential informants and communication records, investigators connected Means to Grundy, who they allege is the head of a criminal organization, the affidavit says.

An informant told police Grundy paid Means to kill Dorsey because he was robbed of a "dope load" and could not pay back Grundy, his supplier, the affidavit said. Davis was in the wrong place at the wrong time, the informant said.

Grundy tracked the men to the gas station where they were shot and killed, as he had "spotters and followers all over the place," the affidavit said.

Grundy is scheduled to appear in court for an initial hearing on Tuesday.
