Shane Storey, technology director at South Newton School Corp. has been charged for incidents involving a student. He has been placed on paid leave pending an investigation, according to school corp. officials.

Newton County prosecutors have charged a South Newton School Corp. employee for incidents involving a high school student.

Shane Storey, 40, of Morocco, faces two misdemeanor charges of battery and furnishing alcohol to a minor, who at the time was younger than the legal drinking age of 21. He also faces a battery charge for inappropriately touching a 19-year-old male who worked as a part-time South Newton summer employee.

Storey is a technology director within the South Newton School Corp., according to its website.

He has been placed on administrative leave, pending an investigation into the grounds of his arrest, said Superintendent Todd Rudnick.

Newton County Sheriff's deputies arrested Storey Sept. 30. He was booked into the Newton County Jail and posted $1,600 bail later that day.

A court date has not yet been set, according to the Newton County Clerk's Office.

Storey is accused of providing alcohol to a South Newton High School student and touching him inappropriately on multiple occasions between 2012 and 2015.

During one incident in fall 2012, Storey allegedly threw a bottle of lotion at the male student and suggested a "beat off session," referring to masturbation, according to the probable cause affidavit. This occurred at Storey's home in Morocco.

In fall 2014, Storey provided the student with bottles of light beer to drink. Afterward, he wrestled with the student and put his hand down the student's pants and touched the student's genitals, according to the probable cause affidavit.

The student pushed Storey away and told him he had to leave.

And in spring 2015, the student was staying at Storey's lake house in White County. After becoming intoxicated, Storey stumbled into the student's bedroom and wrestled the student.

Storey then put his hands down the student's pants to touch the student's genitalia, according to the probable cause affidavit.

The student pushed him off. Storey left the room. The student shut the door.

The student expressed to an investigator that he believed he was not the only person victimized by Storey and that if someone did not stop Storey, he would continue the behavior with other students.

The South Newton summer employee also accuses Storey of inappropriately touching him in August.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Storey gave the employee a ride from South Newton High School. Prior to the student getting into Storey's pickup truck, Storey slapped him on the butt.

While in the truck, Storey made an unwanted sexual advance by grabbing the man's crotch, according to the probable cause affidavit.
