These athletes were chosen for the week ending Jan. 30.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Roncalli basketball player Christian Stewart

CHRISTIAN STEWART, Roncalli

Stewart had a career-high 36 points on Jan. 29, against Cardinal Ritter.  He is the fifth player in 47 seasons at Roncalli to score at least 36 in a game.  On Saturday, Jan. 30, versus Greenwood, he had 21 points and a career-high 12 assists.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Fountain Central basketball player Macee Williams

MACEE WILLIAMS, Fountain Central

Against South Vermillion on Jan. 26, Williams had 31 points, 12 rebounds, four blocks, and two steals. Against No. 9 Riverton Parke on Jan. 28, Macee had 34 points, 26 rebounds, five blocks, and three steals.

BOYS BOWLING

Churubusco bowler Kory Poyser

KORY POYSER, Churubusco

Poyser kicked off the sectional weekend with an 803 series in the Fort Wayne singles sectional on Jan. 30. He shot games of 257, 269, 277 for his total to earn the No. 1 seed in the stepladder finals. He was eliminated in the championship match, 205-226, to finish second. Poyser's average is 189.

GIRLS BOWLING

Lake Central bowler Megan Heflin

MEGAN HEFLIN, Lake Central

Heflin rolled the top series in the state in sectional play on Jan. 30. She rolled games of 269, 253, 224 for a 746 series total. This put her as the No. 1 seed by 99 pins. Although she had to wait for her turn in the stepladder finals, she didn't cool off. She won the championship match 231-199.

WRESTLING

CHRIS SHARP (right), Broad Ripple

Sharp is in his senior season at Broad Ripple and has compiled a 23-2 record. He won the 120 lb. class sectional title at Southport on Jan. 30, and he will advance to the regional at Perry High School.

GIRLS SWIMMING

Park Tudor swimmer Veeanna Edwards

VEEANNA EDWARDS, Park Tudor

Edwards swam in two invitational meets hosting 14 schools each on Jan. 26. She was the 50 and 100 Free Meet Champion in both meets.

BOYS SWIMMING

Twin Lakes swimmer Lane Robertson

LANE ROBERTSON, Twin Lakes

Robertson holds the school record in the 50 and 100 freestyle. He is a Hoosier Conference Record holder in the 50 freestyle and a three-time state finalist.
