New England Patriots national scout DuJuan Daniels, the 1997 Mr. Football from Bishop Chatard, who has overcome hurdles in his life to get to where he is, has a bright future. Daniels, shown with his mother, Catherine Legg, on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015, lives in Indianapolis and has taken care of his family. The only national scout for the Patriots, Daniels will be at the NFL combine looking for future players for New England.

Sportster, an 11-year-old Pit Bull-Louisiana Catahoula mix, leaps into the pool during the dock-diving dogs' Big Air Wave #5 on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015 at the 61st Annual Indianapolis Boat, Sport & Travel Show at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis. Sportster, owned by Ken Frey, Fountaintown, went 18' 2" on his second leap. About 20 dogs participated in the 1:30 p.m. event leading up to the weekend's finals at 4 p.m., organized by Alpha K9 University, Fishers. Dogs were judged on the distance of their leaps from a 40-foot dock into a 40-foot-long pool set up in the Sportsman's Arena in the Champion's Pavilion. There are waves each day at the show, with finals each weekend.

Crispus Attucks cheerleaders are acknowledged during the Butler-Marquette game at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015. This year is the 60th anniversary of Attucks' 1955 state basketball championship (March 19),  the first time an all-black school won an open state tournament anywhere in the nation. The team also won in 1956.
