Paul Poteet’s forecast: Rain

Paul Poteet

Dreary days for the remainder of the work week.

It won't be cold enough for snow, and it won't be unsettled enough for thunder. Just dreary. The better chance for rain is today, with a cold front moving through the state and sweeping away the bigger chances during the day Friday. Final rain totals should average one-half to three-quarters of an inch.

With the cold front's passage Friday you can expect temps to stay in the mid 40s in the morning and midday, then start to fall in the afternoon.

The rain stops falling, but the temps don't Friday night, as the state sinks to the 20s. Saturday brings bitter breezes and highs in the 30s. We could get a few flurries, but it won't be as … dreary. There will be sunshine. Lows will fall to the mid and upper teens Saturday night, and Sunday will be bright and very cold - only making it to the 20s.

There could be a some rain and/or snow showers Monday and Monday night, but there don't appear to be any big weather hazards during the Thanksgiving travel days in the Midwest.

A big storms will roll through the southeast part of the U.S. on Tuesday and Wednesday, but the big day itself should be quiet over much of the country. Around Indy? Sunshine, highs near or a little below freezing.

Would you believe rain is a bigger deal in the Phoenix area over the next few days than it is here? The Colts are headed there this weekend. The Phoenix forecast has a chance of heavy rain Friday, and it will still be mostly cloudy Sunday. The Game Day forecast has a slight shower chance and temps moving from the low to mid 60s.
