C.J. Walker, Arsenal Tech's leading scorer with 24 points, goes in for a layup against Shortridge Blue Devil Chris Adams, the game's high scorer with 28 points, during the Titans' 70-53 City Tournament quarterfinal win over Shortridge at Tech on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015.

Plans can change - and rather quickly, when it comes to recruiting - but as of now, Tech point guard C.J. Walker intends to wait until sometime beyond the July evaluation period to make a college decision.

The 6-foot Walker took an unofficial visit to Illinois over the weekend. That trip followed an unofficial visit to Xavier the previous weekend. In between, he helped the IndyStar Indiana Junior All-Stars to a split of two exhibition games against the Indiana All-Stars.

Walker, who averaged 23.8 points, 3.7 assists and 3.5 rebounds as a junior, is considering Butler, Florida State, Illinois, Missouri, Pitt, Wichita State and Xavier.

"I'm probably going to cut it down again after July," he said. "I'm going to go strong (in July) and see what happens."

The former Purdue recruit is ranked No. 149 in the class by Rivals. He has his first two official visits scheduled this month - at Florida State from June 18-21 and at Butler from June 26-28. He said it's likely at this point that he'll make more official visits after July.

Walker said Nebraska has made recent contact but he's more likely to focus in on the seven schools on his current list.

"I really want to focus on my seven," he said. "Those are the seven I've been comfortable with."
