Visiting Indianapolis for the first time since 1994, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and company make a historic stop at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as part of their 15-city North American "Zip Code" tour. One of the most successful rock bands of all time, the Rolling Stones have sold more than 250 million albums worldwide over their 50-plus years.

Pop-country trio Rascal Flatts, who performed at Klipsch Music Center on May 30, and Saints of Valory will open for the Stones.

In 1969 alone, the iconic Creedence Clearwater Revival released three full-length albums, marking a very productive year in the band's short-lived career. Commemorating this special time in CCR history, vocalist-guitarist John Fogerty visits Indianapolis as part of his solo retrospective "1969" tour. Fogerty's autobiography, "Fortunate Son: My Life, My Music," will arrive in stores later this year.

Five Year Mission

Five Year Mission will perform on July 3 at Radio Radio.

Across five years, this Indianapolis rock band has released music inspired by the original 1960s "Star Trek" series, with the ultimate goal of writing a song that correlates with each of the classic sci-fi show's 79 episodes. Continuing with this mission, the quintet will celebrate the release of the "Spock's Brain" album at Radio Radio, supported by Hoosier bands Stackhouse and Count Rockula.

Fountain Square Music Festival

Lera Lynn will perform on July 4 as part of Fountain Square Music Festival.

Following a lineup of concerts on July 1 and 2, Fountain Square Music Festival continues in Indy's Fountain Square neighborhood. On Friday, highlights include a performance from guitarist mastermind Yonatan Gat at Joyful Noise Recordings, as well as a solid lineup of local bands at The Hi-Fi. And on Saturday, the festival's main event will take place on Shelby Street. Lera Lynn, who's contributing music to the new season of HBO series "True Detective," is part of the multi-act lineup.

Melvins

Buzz Osborne will perform with the Melvins on July 7 at the Vogue.

Formed back in 1983, this Washington-born sludge rock group paved the way for the '90s grunge movement, influencing bands like Nirvana and Soundgarden. Decades later, the group will visit Indianapolis with a lineup that includes founding members Buzz Osborne (vocals/guitar) and Dale Crover (drums). The longtime band mates will be joined on stage by guitarist Paul Leary and bassist Jeff Pinkus, known for their work in experimental rock group Butthole Surfers.
