Micah Harrison, the man accused of stabbing his 2-year-old son to death, pleaded guilty to a murder charge this morning.

Harrison decided to plead during the process of jury selection for his trial that began earlier this week. The Alabama man has been at Hamilton County Jail since Jan. 9, 2013, when police found his son's lifeless body in a unit at Autumn Breeze Apartments in the 14000 block of Waterlily Drive in Noblesville. According to a probable cause affidavit, Micah Harrison's mother saw her son stab the boy at least twice with a kitchen knife.

Michael Harrison had three stab wounds: two on his chest and one on his forehead.

Micah Harrison, who was 30 at that time, will have a sentencing hearing March 26 at Hamilton Superior Court.

The Robertsdale, Ala., resident drove to Noblesville in January 2013 with his son and two daughters to visit his mother. The girls, who were 4 and 5 at that time, were unharmed.

Pamela Harrison told police that shortly before her son stabbed the toddler he said that "someone or something was trying to kill him," according to court documents.
